"Kuwait Forum: Center for Humanitarian Action"... Paths to Excellence and Sustainable Impact

Dr. Abdullah Matouq Al-Maatouq, Chairman of the International Islamic Charitable Organization and Special Advisor to the Secretary-General of the United Nations, emphasized that Kuwait's charitable leadership has extended its regional and global influence year after year, leading the State of Kuwait to take center stage in the humanitarian arena over the past decade, hosting numerous international conferences to support humanitarian situations in several countries.

Al-Mutawa pointed out Kuwait's continuous humanitarian contributions to disaster-stricken areas around the world, which earned it international recognition from the United Nations in September 2014 when it was designated a Humanitarian Center, and the late Emir, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad, may God have mercy on him, was crowned "Leader of Humanitarian Action."

This came in a speech delivered by Dr. Al-Mutawa at the opening of the Kuwait Humanitarian Action Center 2023 Forum, organized by the Regional Network for Social Responsibility under the theme "Humanitarian Action in Kuwait: Paths to Excellence and Sustainable Positive Impact Nationally and Internationally." The forum coincided with the ninth anniversary of Kuwait's designation as a Humanitarian Action Center by the United Nations in September 2014.

The forum was launched at the headquarters of the Arab Planning Institute in Kuwait, in partnership with the Peace Association for Humanitarian and Charitable Works, and in cooperation with the Institute for Superior Achievement Training.

Al-Mutawa said: "This forum comes at a time when the world is facing numerous challenges, calling for concerted efforts and enhanced cooperation to achieve a positive impact that benefits all of humanity. The difficult humanitarian and economic conditions and multiple crises facing the world oblige us to improve the quality of charitable work and achieve maximum sustainability in giving."

Emphasizing that "humanitarian values are at the forefront of our priorities, and that giving is an integral part of our national identity, we in Kuwait are proud of our rich charitable heritage, upon which we were raised, and which many charitable associations and institutions have followed."
